Viscotek 270max system components
The Viscotek 270max is a complete, modular, advanced, multi-detector GPC/SEC system suitable for all macromolecular applications.
It consists of carefully selected modular units which work seamlessly together for perfect results. The modules are detectors for light scattering, viscometry, RI, UV and PDA/DAD, column oven, the GPCmax integrated solvent and sample delivery module and the OmniSEC software.
It consists of three unique and complementary components:
- Detectors (270, RI, UV, PDA/DAD) and column oven
- GPCmax integrated solvent and sample delivery module
- OmniSEC software
The 270max system consists of the following standard modules:
Detectors and column oven The Viscotek 270 detector sets the standard for GPC/SEC. As a Triple Detector Array it employs refractive index, viscometer and light scattering detectors all acting in concert, with each detector providing complimentary data on the macromolecules being analyzed. In its Tetra Detector format, the addition of a UV detector provides a wealth of additional compositional data particularly when the optional Photodiode Array (PDA or DAD) is used to make spectral measurement of all wavelengths simultaneously.
GPCmax™ - combined pump, degasser and autosampler The GPCmax is the world’s leading solvent and sample delivery module exclusively for GPC/SEC applications. Designed by GPC/SEC practitioners to deliver unparalleled robustness and performance for these demanding applications, it provides the reliable and stable chromatographic foundation for the 270max advanced detection system. The GPCmax can be controlled from the front panel or the OmniSEC software. For serious chromatographers, demanding high throughput and the highest reproducibility and accuracy, the GPCmax is the perfect choice.
OmniSEC™ Software OmniSEC is a powerful yet easy to use GPC/SEC software for instrument control, data acquisition, analysis and reporting. It is at the heart of the 270max system providing an integrated solution that helps you maximize the information and efficiency of your experiments. Simply load your samples and the software controls all the sequencing, enabling truly automatic unattended operation.

Featured presentations and application notes:
Application communication: Determination of polymer structure by GPC It is advantageous to use light scattering to determine molecular weights provided the signals are sufficiently intensive strong. Triple detection combines these detection capabilities into a single system to give molecular weight and structure without limitations.
Application communication: Structural differences in modified starches The Viscotek triple detection system provides a convenient and rapid way to characterize starches and modified starches. The instrument allows determination of molecular weight and molecular size in a single run using normal conditions and sample concentrations. The IV and size data allow differentiation between molecules of differing structures. The technique is equally applicable to other polysaccharides and all other synthetic or natural polymers such as proteins and DNA.
