For laboratories with high sample throughput, the real value of using SOPs is seen when fully automated particle size distribution measurements are made without operator intervention. Automatic preparation and dispersion of samples for the Mastersizer 2000 gives true intervention-free operation to free key personnel for other tasks.

The Autosampler has a capacity of 36 samples and the ability to hold either wet or dry sample material. It is equipped with a bar code reader to identify the contents of each sample pot and automatically apply the appropriate measurement protocol for the dispersion. Optimum sample conditioning is achieved with the ability to add correct doses of different additives and dispersants.

  • Sample recognition.
    By built-in bar code reader.
  • Sub-sampling Mechanism.
In-pot addition and mixing of dispersant and up to 2 additives. Isokinetic sampling ensures exceptional accuracy of sample extraction. Auto concentration assures reliable adjustment of sample concentration to optimize sample particle size distribution measurement. Auto wash between particle size distribution measurements eliminates cross contamination.
  • Dispersion Type.
Wet, for operation with Hydro S or Hydro G sample dispersion units.
  • Sample handling capability.
Disperses and prepares suspensions, emulsions or dry powders.
  • Capacity.
    36 samples.
  • Sample scheduling.
Via scheduling software – samples prioritized by on-screen "dragging and dropping". Color coding of sample measurement status allows at-a-glance assessment of work in progress. Off-line scheduling allows preparation of sample trays in advance for uninterrupted operation of the Autosampler.
  • Operation
    Automatic via SOPs
  • Typical Applications
Minerals, fillers, soils, pharmaceuticals, cement, chemicals, pigments.
  • Solvent Compatibility
The circulation path consists of the following materials : Viton ® fluorastomer (seals, and sample flow valve), glass, 316 stainless steel and PTFE/Peek ®
